Tabernacle of György Szathmáry (1510s)

The Bishop of Pécs entrusted Italian masters with the task of creating the tabernacle. Its informal style, dynamic ornaments of the frieze and the pilasters with vase, mask and flowers, and the spatiality of angels standing on the stairs make it related to mature Renaissance of Florence of the 16th century.
