Madonna enthroned with two historic personalities on both sides: Tamás, archbishop of Esztergom, is handing over Mary the crown. The provost with orb is on Mary's left, and Charles Robert is on her right: Mary is placing the crown on his head. Tamás Sempsey Frank, his page, is next to him. The fresco portrays citizens of Szepesség who gave military help to Charles Robert. It also includes Byzantine ideology: the source of royal rule is Mary holding her child in her lap, the symbol of divine wisdom. The portrait of Madonna followed Byzantine patterns.
