Christ Taking Leave of his Mother is an excellent example of Renaissance in the North during Renaissance under King Matthias. The epitaph was originally placed in the Cathedral in Nyitra and this must have been in the middle. Figures indicate that the master knew engravings by Dürer. Its balance, long draperies, quiet areas and the delicate expression brought about a highly expressive work. |
