Story of the Artists' Colony at Nagybánya

This tour presents the story of the Nagybánya artists' colony and school from its establishment in 1896 by Simon Hollósy up to the closing in 1937 and its after-life following the Second World War. This artists' colony represents the most important movement in the artistic life in Hungary at the beginning of the 20th century. The art radiating from Nagybánya deeply influenced Hungarian art of the century.
