Portals of the Saint Elizabeth Church in Kassa

The gate on the west is the oldest one. Gablets and floating spatial elements are arranged by turns. The composition of the Mount of Olives, with stout figures in delicately folded drapery on the tympanum, was probably the work of a master who learnt his art in Southern Germany. The figure of God the Father with spatiality reflects new principles of composition.

The portal of the Northern transept was probably produced by an artist representing a style older than that of the relief of the Last Judgement, while reliefs on Crucifixion and the Legend of St. Elizabeth were made by a stone-cutter skilled in the soft style.
