<DIV CLASS="BIO">Between 1728 and 1733 he studied at the Vienna Academy. He workwd in Bavaria and Wurttenberg in the 30s, in Titol after 1750, in Styria, Lower Austria and Vienna from 1764. He was made a noble in 1759 and in 1765 he became a court painter.<P CLASS="BIO">
Initially he was under Pozzo's influence; in 1759 he visited Venice. Later Kremser Schmidt influenced him. He ran a large workshop and his work was rather extended. Both in murals and oil paintings he made allegories and religious paintings for castles and churches.
