The altarpiece comes from Kisszeben. A most significant sculptor of Hungary - beside Master Paul of Lőcse - at the beginning of the 16th century was the Master of the Saint Anne Altarpieces. His style, like that of Master Paul, was determined by the late Gothic style represented by Veit Stoss and spreading from Cracow. His real nane is unknown he is referred to after the two great Saint Anne altarpieces bearing the signs of his style.
