Description of the illumination: The beheading of the pagan chief Koppány having rebelled against Saint Stephen, first King of Hungary.

This illumination is one of the 147 of the Illuminated Chronicle (Chronicon Hungariae Pictum or Chronica de Gestis Hungarorum) commissioned by Hungarian King Lajos I (1342-1382).
