Monument to György Szentgyörgyi

1467
Red marble, 280 x 143 cm
Parish Church, Pozsonyszentgyörgy

This is one of the relatively numerous surviving - usually red marble - funeral monuments the types of which were already formed in the 14th century. The monument for a clergy has a figural composition depicting the deceased with the attributes of his position, while that for layman is a tombstone with coat-of-arms and some other decoration depending on his rank.
