István and Béla

Szinyei spent the summer of 1868 in his home in Jernye where he painted the most fascinating portrait, in fact a double-portrait, of his younger brothers: Béla is facing the viewer and István is nestling up closely to him. The picture painted in delicate realism is a worthy counterpart of the portrait Szinyei had painted of Zsigmond, his younger brother.
