PETRICH, András
(1765, Mitrovica - 1842, Buda)

Military engineer-general, painter, illustrator and etcher. Besides his job in the military (he was chief of staff of the insurgency of noblemen in 1809) he recorded the landscapes of Hungary and foreign countries in a number of watercolours and gouache pieces. He made a gouache series of the Lake Balaton region in the twenties, and several pieces of this series are no held in the Hungarian National Gallery.
