MELEGH, Gábor
(1801, Verseg - 1832, Vienna)



Painter and lithograph artist. During his studies in Vienna, he was working in Vienna and Versec. On orders of Austrian and Hungarian aristocracy, he produced water colour miniatures, portrait lithographs in the style of Vienna portrait painting. He was a major master of his age. He was engaged in experiments with copper engravings ("Street Sweeper"). He was Károly Brocky's master in Versec.
