KUGLER, Pál Ferenc
(1836-1875)

Sculptor, a late follower of Classicism, having studied in Rome and taken his artistic ideals from Italy. He settled in Hungary and mainly concerned himself with portraits. He best-known works are the busts of his artist friends and art lovers, József Engel, Károly Lotz, Viktor Madarász and Zsigmond Ormos. His bust of Ferenc Liszt is also well-known.
