KARDOS, Gyula
(1857, Baja - 1908, Monte Carlo)



Painter. After his studies under the guidance of Gyula Benczúr in Budapest and Munich, he worked as a portrait and miniature painter ('Appointment', 'Surprise', 'Interesting Reading', etc.). He received the prize of the Budapest Museum of Modern Arts for his realistic and plastically composed painting titled 'Job'. Several of his paintings are kept in the Hungarian National Gallery.
