JOHAN, Hugó
(1890, Pécs - 1952, Budapest)

 Painter. He studied in Pécs, Kolozsvár and Florence. In 1920 he organized a common exhibition with Henrik Stefán. From autumn 1921 he worked in Berlin, first in the mosaic decoration workshop of Caesar Klein cubist designer, then at the stained glass workshop of Gottfried Heinersdorf. He settled in Budapest in 1923 and established the National Stained Glass Workshop. He executed stained glass windows for the Cathedral in Szeged and the New Church at Kaposvár. He painted with the stylus element of the neoprimitivism.
