GULÁCSY, Lajos
(1882, Budapest - 1932, Budapest)

Emily

c. 1903
Oil on canvas, 36 x 22,5 cm
Herman Ottó Museum, Miskolc

Lajos Gulácsy's treatment of female figures tends to be nostalgic and escapist, as indeed does all his work. Emily, for example, has the ephemeral dreamay quality reminiscent of Dante Gabriel Rossetti's women.
