GALIMBERTI, Sándor
(1883, Kaposvár - 1915, Budapest)



He was a pupil of István Réti in Nagybánya from 1904 where he was under Károly Ferenczy's influence. Later he studied in Munich. After visiting Hollósy's art school in Técső, he attended the Julian Academy, Paris. His works were first exhibited in Salon des Indépendants and Salon d'Automne. Valéria Dénes, his wife, who was Matisse's student, played an import role in influencing his painting with her dynamic art combining Matisse' decorative style and cubism.
