FADRUSZ, János
(1858, Pozsony - 1903, Budapest)

Wesselényi Memorial

1896-1902
Bronze
Zilah

The Wesselényi Memorial is the third large-scale monument executed by Fadrusz beside the Maria Theresia and Matthias statues. The genre-like, naturalistic composition is inferior to the other two, however, the statue unveiled in 1902 was a big success. It was removed in 1935 by Romanian nationalists, and re-erected in 1942.
