ERŐS, Andor
(1889-1917)

He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts tutored by Károly Ferenczy, then worked in the colony of artists at Nagybánya (Baia Mare, Romania) and Kecskemét. Working in a neoist environment, his painting art shifted toward expressionism, and became characterised by dense, notched brush-strokes and a colouration that for the most part gained independence from the original sight. Lajos Kassák also appreciated his art that could be associated with that of József Nemes-Lampérth, and published two of his graphics in the first journal of the movement of activism called 'A Tett' (The Action).
