DOZSNYAI, Károly
(1813, Debrecen - 1850, London)



Portrait painter and sculptor. On his return to Debrecen from his study trips to Vienna and Munich, he started to paint and create portraits. In 1840 he produced a relief and in 1848 a marble statue of Ferenc Liszt. After the war of independence of 1848-49, he emigrated to England. His major works include portraits of "V. Ferdinand" and "István Szoboszlai Pap", the bust of "Pál Sárvári" and "The Holy Legend".
