The still-life and the view combined in a daring composition reflect Csók's Italian trip. The combination of landscape and still-life is typical of Csók. Lemons in noisy yellow on the purple cloth of the round table and a carafe with a floral pattern fill the foreground of a projecting terrace which is indicated only. This dynamic effect of colours is surrounded by the ochre road winding along the dark rocky coast, the red roofs of houses in the bay of Naples. The picture recalls Goethe's emotions and ideas with elemental power which might symbolize the desire of people in the north to go to the south. Besides its drawing, strong contrasts of colours and a daring and brilliant composition make the picture never to be forgotten.
