Tympanum of Szentkirály

The relief portraying Christ next to two donators was on the spandrel of the portal with orders of arches and jambs. Christ sitting on the throne in the middle is raising his hand to give his blessings while he is holding a book in the left hand. There is a man kneeling on his right: he is holding the model of a church. On Christ's left, there is a kneeling woman: she is holding something damaged in her hands. They were the builders of the church.
The three figures fill the area of the picture. It is an iconographic peculiarity that the secular figures and Christ are of the same size. Condensed and plastic composition of figures, gestures, and delicately painted hair and folds indicate that the person who painted it was an excellent artist. Forms bright and hard, and details of uneven surface and soft light produced a contrast typical of masters of cathedrals in Parma and Borgo.
