UNKNOWN GOTHIC MASTER, sculptor
(14th century)

Funeral Monument of Abbot László Cudar

1372
Red marble, 2029 x 99 cm
Benedictine Abbey Church, Pannonhalma

Besides the Sigfrid-tombstone, this the other important figural tombstone from the 14th century. Its remarkable feature is the two dogs below the feet of the abbot. This motif is exceptional in Hungary, however, it is rather frequent in France and Germany.
