MARASTONI, József
(1834, Venice - 1895, Vienna)



Painter, son of Jakab Marastoni. He studied in his mother's private school up to 1850, then he attended the Art Academy of Venice, Italy. In 1853 he returned to Hungary and worked partly in his father's atelier and partly in Székesfehérvár as a portrait painter. Following his father's death he took up lithographic portrait making, a more profitable occupation, and moved to Vienna.
