LIBAY, Károly Lajos
(1816, Besztercebánya - 1888, Vienna)



Painter. After learning in the workshop of his father, a goldsmith, he studied at the Vienna Academy where he started painting elaborate landscapes and vedutas. In 1849 he went to Munich and Nürnberg. He got to Egypt and the Holy Land during his adventurous life. He painted water-colours and canvasses ("Farmhouse Yard").
