KNOPP, Imre
(1867, Pest - 1945, Budapest)



Painter. He studied in Weimar and Paris, then in the master school of Benczúr. He exhibited his first picture in 1887 in the Budapest Art Gallery (Patching Bootmaker). Apart from portraits he painted mainly figural compositions and conversational pieces in the academic style (Last Stitches, The Soup, Sunday Bonnet etc.). In 1922 and in 1930 he had comprehensive exhibitions in the Art Gallery, Budapest. The Hungarian National Gallery has several of his paintings.
