Sculptor. First a pupil of László Mátrai at the School of Applied Arts in Budapest, Betlen went to Paris to continue his art studies. After some study trips to Germany and France, he settled down in Budapest in 1904. After winning a competiton, his statue of Kossuth was erected at Nyíregyháza in 1911. He worked as an art teacher from 1915 onwards. In addition to statues, he also produced plaquettes and medals.
