The reverse of the medal showing Ignác Alpár the architect, has a man dressed in medieval garments working with a pair of compasses on a drawing-board. His bold gestures fill the circular surface of medal. The sweeping movement is typical of Berán's compositions. The antique column in the background is a reference to Alpár's profession, and acts as a visual motif.
